Swivels so it will swing side to side and front to back. EUC! Will run on batteries or plugged in. This swing was a life saver for me! It’s light so I’d bring it into the kitchen and she’s swing while I cooked. It has shoulder and lap straps to safely keep them in. It plays music and night sounds. I’d keep it for just in case if we weren’t moving and trying to downsize
