This is an authentic United States Navy fire extinguisher that was in service during WWII and the Korean War. These are known as “15 pound” extinguishers because of the amount of CO2 it holds. You can see the beautiful markings which include “U.S.N” and the “US” with a ship anchor, both of which are indications of United States Navy. The date stamps that you see on photo #2 are inspection dates that were done while this extinguisher was in service. This item was made by The General Detroit Corporation which was an American manufacturer of fire trucks and fire extinguishers from 1903 to 2001.
