A Le Creuset Dutch Oven can be an indispensable tool in the kitchen. Long recognized for its strength and durability, the cast iron main ingredient will maintain even and consistent heat for slow cooking, braising, and roasting. The enameled Dutch Oven needs no seasoning, and is suitable for stove top and oven use. The dome shaped lid promotes continuous circulation of heat and moisture.
This vintage Dutch Oven is from the 1980s. It’s been a mainstay in our household for almost 40 years. It has produced countless batches of incredible soups through the years. It is extremely hard to find this size of USED Dutch Oven on the Internet.
The finish is a glossy blue and is still in great shape for how much it has been used. There are some light scratches on the pot bottom and around the lids rim. There are a couple of small chips on the handles. The interior of the lid is in Very Good condition. The lid fits firmly on the pot, sealing it as intended. The interior of the Dutch Oven shows wear from use, but there are no food orders. There are no dents, no cracks, and no crazing of the glaze. There are a number of small droplet scars on the lid, where something (unknown) splattered on it and compromised the glossy finish. The scarring, or imperfections, can be seen in the photos. There are a couple of small nicks inside, on the bottom, from utensils.
The vintage Le Creuset Dutch Ovens came with phenolic knobs, so baking temperatures should not exceed 375°.
