In order to prevent irresponsible breeding and selling, Southern Cook & Will County, IL DOES NOT ALLOW the sale of animals. A re-homing fee in the $40-$50 range is acceptable. ALL animals that are to be re-homed should be posted in the PET ACCESSORIES category (http://tinyurl.com/Petacces...)
- Make sure they are over 8 weeks old in accordance with Illinois law. PLEASE have your pets spayed or neutered to help control the pet population!

A lot goes into the proper breeding and care of a pedigree dog or cat or other animal. Unfortunately, there are people who buy a dog and think they can sell the pups for $100-$500 each for some quick cash. They don't take the health of the breeding pair into account, vaccinations, boarding conditions, etc.
Reputable breeders are NOT going to advertise on a yard sale site. In fact, they often have homes for their pups before they're even born. They interview the prospective family to make sure it's going to be the right home. Good breeders will even have you get the pup spayed if they think that you cannot provide the resources necessary for proper breeding.

If people boycott these breeders, the cycle will stop.

There are a lot of animals available at your local Humane Society - please consider them first!
