This medium-weight, soft, pure virgin wool blanket belonged to my parents. I have enough of my own bedding and don't need to keep this blanket, so would like to sell it. It measures 72 inches x 87 inches - double bed size. The colour is a medium, almost mint, shade of green, but my photos don't show the shade accurately. It's not a dull colour. The pure virgin wool label is attached to the blanket, but there is no maker's label. The blanket is in very good to great used condition; no holes or tears. The satin acetate bindings at top and bottom have changed colour somewhat, due to age, but are still stitched into place. The blanket has no smells, odours or stains, guaranteed. I wouldn't be selling it, or even giving it away, if it were otherwise!
The blanket has a right and a wrong side. I see a few very small pulls in the wool on the wrong side, but these are not visible on the right side, which has no visible flaws that I can see. I noticed that a couple of red wool threads got woven into the blanket. The red colour is dye, not stains; the blanket came like this from the factory. The red bits of thread are so tiny that I didn't see them until I started to inspect the blanket closely in order to prepare my ad. See the last photo.
This blanket was folded and stored in a cupboard in my parents' house for decades, and has some creases. I can recall seeing it in the cupboard in the mid-1960s, but don't remember ever seeing it in use on a bed. I think that it was kept for occasional use by overnight company. I really don't know. I think it's probably from the 1950s but don't know that for sure.
Contact me for additional photos; I could post only one on this site.
