Welcome to String Theory Guitar Academy! I have a few openings available immediately on Thursdays, so what are you waiting for?!? It's never too late to learn to play guitar...whether you only want to play for fun or maybe you are wanting to start that garage band you've always dreamed of, we can get you on the road to rock!

More than just guitar, I also teach ukulele and mandolin and I dabble with banjo and fiddle, so there's no end of opportunity to try something new!

I enjoy most types of music [Pop, Rock, Metal, Country, Classical, Oldies...no, really, I do!], and there's virtually nothing I can't figure out, so you'll learn whatever you want to learn [in time, with regular practice...]

As well, I have a firm understanding of music theory and apply it only as necessary...you do not need to be able to read music to play guitar, or any instrument, for that matter...but it does enable you to play virtually anything that you can read, so it is a valuable skill!!

If you choose to read music, I have a few books that I use regularly to keep things structured. Once you have a foothold, we can start to learn songs by established artists, using books, TABs, or our own ears! The next logical leap is writing your own songs...that's where the real fun begins!

$40/ hour [18 years and up!]
