We are currently recruiting for School Lunch Monitors for the Greater Essex County District School Board for the 2019 – 2020 school year. This is a wonderful way to become more involved with the schools in your community and to contribute to student life.

This is a paid position of $14/hour. You can pick and choose which schools you are available for and which days of the week you can work. We currently staff for all the public schools across Windsor-Essex County for nutrition break activities. Break times are 45 minutes to 1 hour in length and can vary between the hours of 10am - 2pm (Depending on the school).

The Monitor will oversee students in a variety of settings including the classroom, lunch area, and outside play areas. The Monitors may be required to use a variety of indoor and outdoor games and activities together with effective strategies to help provide quality support to students during break times. The Monitor works in a team environment and reports directly to the School Principal or designate.

In order to work as a Lunch Monitor, the GECDSB requires the following:

Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance (Cost paid by candidate)
Negative TB test (Cost paid by candidate)
Experience working with children – Great position for parents, grandparents, crossing guards, school bus drivers and those with educational backgrounds looking for exposure with the GECDSB
