Hazelton Brothers Victorian Parlor Grand Piano

This beautiful Hazelton Brothers Grand Piano has been a part of our lives and has been loved and played by our family for many years. We are reluctantly selling it because it will not physically fit in our new smaller home.

This stunning Hazelton Victorian Parlor Grand Piano is made of beautiful mahogany with heavily carved legs, lyre, and music rack. An excellent example of handsome Hazelton Victorian grand pianos, it clearly show the clean lines and balanced proportions of the Hazelton design. Hazelton was known for building high quality, superior sounding instruments. Their pianos have the big, rich sound commonly associated with Victorian pianos.

Hazelton is one of the few American piano manufacturers to survive the Great Depression, and they continued to build pianos until the late 1950's. The value of these older Hazelton grands, like other art objects, is made partially of the instrument itself and partially of the sense of history, artistic appreciation for the craft, and personal preference.

Although older pianos such as this, are comprised of many parts that age and wear, older pianos with quality exterior, as Hazeltons have, are often restored. The resulting instrument will be a combination of the original design and materials plus the replacement parts and enhancements bestowed by the highly skilled piano technicians who undertake such restorations. Even restored, the sound and touch of each piano, a little like the human voice, are individual. The discerning listener will readily distinguish and comment on the quality of a piano’s sound.

Restored Hazelton Brothers Victorian Grand Pianos often fetch upwards of $20,000 as seen in this 1897 Victorian Parlor Grand (http://tinyurl.com/znwvdu2) as well as this 1897 Victorian Grand (http://tinyurl.com/jzqocyh).

We are asking $10,000 for this beautiful instrument as we must sell it in the near future. Please feel free to contact us for additional information.
