I decided to keep some of the beautiful vintage wood showing so stripped down the top and gave it a fresh new look with provincial stain topped off with a final protective poly finish. Now as for the body of the dresser...I did a little experimenting with mixing my paint colors to create the right shade of green...a total of five colors to be exact! Loved the shade once I finished...it is like an old, dusty vintage green...and when I sanded it back hints of color patina popped through. I added in a hand painted fern to the front and finished the piece in dark and clear waxes. The colors are beautiful with some of the black undertone I added earlier popping through. I've done a dresser similar to this a couple of years ago and loved it so much I told myself I would do another again some day. The drawer pulls were switched out and I've implemented two garden hose taps for the top drawer. The top drawer also has simple but cute wood dividers and the two others are nice and deep. All are in good shape as is the back. The dresser is on its original castor wheels too! Measurements are 40" across by 18" wide X 36" tall. How sweet this would be in an entryway or closed in porch!
