This HUMMINGBIRD© Dreamcatcher is bent and shaped by hand then welded. Its outer frame is wrapped with radiant iridescent colors that imitate that of a live Hummingbird. Particularly the neck area or the "gorget" of the male bird which he show's off to attract the female. The gorget is wrapped with 2 cords of metallic teal and a speckled teal cord. Below that area the colors change to a metallic royal blue, silver and speckled baby blue. Then the tail transitions into black satin & grey satin cords with silver speckled black metallic and again the baby blue speckled cord. Up along the back is the same as the belly area, then up around the head is black satin and black metallic with silver/black speckled cords. The beak or bill is black satin & metallic cords. The wings are the same colors as the tail, black, grey, black metallic and silver speckled.
The web is also a multitude of colors beginning with the head, which is silver metallic heavy-duty thread. The gorget web is a teal metallic thread. The belly area is royal blue metallic, the tail is a gun smoke grey metallic and the wings are 2 colors of dark rainbow metallic and royal blue in the center. Beautiful beads are strung throughout the entire bird as the photos show.
Multiple layers of feathers hang in teal, royal blue, white and speckled teal. The wingspan is 12 inches from tip to tip of each wing.
Each wing is 4 inches wide, the length of the beak is 3 inches and the length of bird frame from top of head to bottom of tail is 14 1/4 inches. The total length from top of head to bottom of feathers is 28 inches. The soda can is there to compare in size.
